Rhythm

At the heart of motion is rhythm. Rhythm gives motion its structure, guides its speed, and suggests pacing and modulation. These videos are personal responses to a project brief (pdf), providing visual interpretations that help us see and feel rhythmic structure. Early examples are silent, since they were based on sketches by hand of various visual rhythmic beats. Later examples, based on specific pieces of music or sound compositions, feature the music.
